In addition, Milwaukee Admirals Executive Vice-President and General Manager Phil Wittliff announced today that the team has signed defenseman Brad Tiley to an AHL contract.

The 5-11, 200-pound native of Thief River Falls, Minn., also recorded 16 points (9g-7a) in 40 games with the Admirals during the 2003-04 regular season and tied for third on the Ads in power-play goals (3) en route to the AHL Title.
Smith has 15 points (7g-8a) in 83 career NHL games over the past five seasons with Nashville and Phoenix. He was originally the Coyotes' sixth choice, 233rd overall (ninth round), in the 1997 Entry Draft.

Severson, 26, finished the 2003-04 season with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, notching career-highs in games played (33), penalty minutes (58) and goals (three), after starting the year with the Mighty Ducks' AHL affiliate in Cincinnati. The 6-1, 215-pound Canora, Sask. native appeared in 35 NHL games with Anaheim over the past two seasons after signing as a free agent on August 22, 2002. He was originally San Jose's sixth choice, 192nd overall (eighth round), in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
Smithson, 25, split the 2003-04 season between Los Angeles, where he tallied one assist in eight NHL games, and Manchester. The 6-2, 197-pound center tallied three assists and 25 penalty minutes in 30 NHL games with the Kings over the last two seasons, and led Manchester with a +16 rating in 2002-03.
