
Pre Season Schedule Released

Springfield Jr. Blues News Release
The Jr. Blues are excited to announce their 2014 Preseason schedule. This year's schedule features four different opponents. Peoria and St. Louis are Tier III junior hockey teams that compete in the NA3HL. Lindenwood University and University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana are both ACHA Division I collegiate hockey teams. Tickets for all games are $5 at the door or FREE if you come to one of the many events the Jr. Blues will be participating in Springfield and around Central Illinois in August into early September.
Saturday August 30th 7:05 pm vs. St. Louis Jr. Blues (NA3HL):
The St. Louis Jr. Blues finished 2nd last season in the NA3HL Central Division. Kyle Meeh lead their defense in scoring the 1st half of the season with 29 points in 32 games before a mid-season call-up to Springfield. Andrew McGlynn, a 2014 Springfield tender, scored 16 goals and 19 assists for St. Louis last season. St. Louis went on to win the Central Division by defeating Peoria 2 games to 1 in the playoffs.
Sunday August 31st 5:05 pm vs. Peoria Mustangs (NA3HL):
The Peoria Mustangs won the Central Division last year with a 32-15-1 record. The team was lead by former Jr. Blue Nate Chasteen with 75 points. Jr. Blues' affiliate player Thomas Kolaz finished the season with 11 points in 15 games.
Friday September 5th 7:05pm vs. Lindenwood University (ACHA)
Lindenwood University finished last season 15-18-2. Lindenwood is coached by former St. Louis Blue, Rick Zombo and has become a staple in the ACHA National Tournament the last few years. Last season, the lost in the first round of the National Tournament, finishing the year ranked 17th in the nation.
Friday September 12th 7:05pm vs. University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana (ACHA)
U of I will make their 3rd annual appearance in Springfield. Last year, the Illini handed the Jr. Blues their only loss of the preseason. U of I finished the season 21-18-2 and lost in the round of 16 at the National Championships. The Illini was ranked 16th in the nation in the final ACHA rankings.
Preseason Tickets
Tickets for all games are $5 at the door or can be picked up prior to the game at the Gilly's Oasis (Concession Stand) at the Nelson Center for FREE. In addition to the Gilly's Oasis, the Jr. Blues will be distributing FREE tickets at many events around Springfield in August and September.
