Coulee Region Chill News Release
La Crosse, WI (WXOW) -After four days of intense tryouts at Green Ice Arena, the Coulee Region Chill have gone from 170 players to 25 and now begin preparing for the 2014-15 season.
Head coach A.J. Degenhardt said Monday in a release the team has made its selections for an initial roster and was pleased with the talent displayed during tryouts.
"We feel we have added some very good pieces to the roster and our hard work with drafting and tendering players has paid off," he said.
The returning players are led by forwards Adam Lovick, Richard Zehnal, Eddie Matsushima, and Blake Kelley, who combined for 53 goals last season. Griff Jeszka, Ondrej Zehnal, Cam Cooper, and Curtis Simonson are also back for the Chill.
Goaltender Adam Carlson is expected to once again carry the load in goal. He won 13 games with a 2.67 goals against average last season.
A number of Chill draft picks and tenders also made the team out of camp. They include: Garrett Riebling, Vince Marinaro, Dominic Florian, Jack Sorenson, Jordan Bochinski, Aussie Miller, Isaac Theissen, Nico Luka, Jackson Charlesworth, Brady Ferner, and Jimmy Thomas.
The names of free agents who made the team will be announced at a later date.
The Chill open the season against the Odessa Jackalopes on Sept. 17 at the NAHL Showcase Tournament in Blaine, Minn.
