Chill Begin Preparations for '14-'15 Season

La Crosse, Wisconsin - The Coulee Region Chill, Proud Members of the North American Hockey League will begin preparations for the 2014-15 season with nine veterans and a strong incoming group of newcomers, Coach A.J. Degenhardt announced today,

Degenhardt and his assistant coaches selected an initial roster following the conclusion of the team's four-day tryout camp Sunday at Green Island Ice Arena.

"The coaching staff is really pleased with the turnout and level of play this weekend," Degenhardt said. "We feel we have added some very good pieces to the roster and our hard work with drafting and tendering players has paid off."

The returning players are led by forwards Adam Lovick, Richard Zehnal, Eddie Matsushima, and Blake Kelley, who combined for 53 goals last season.

Goaltender Adam Carlson will be looked to as a workhorse after winning 13 games with a 2.67 goals against average a year ago.

Griff Jeszka, Ondrej Zehnal, Cam Cooper, and Curtis Simonson will also return to the Chill.

Chill draft picks and tenders who made the team out of camp include Garrett Riebling, Vince Marinaro, Dominic Florian, Jack Sorenson, Jordan Bochinski, Aussie Miller, Isaac Theissen, Nico Luka, Jackson Charlesworth, Brady Ferner, and Jimmy Thomas.

The names of free agents who made the team will be released at the start of the season.

The Chill open their season against the Odessa Jackalopes at 1:15 p.m. Sept. 17 at the NAHL Showcase Tournament in Blaine, Minn.
