
Pre-Season Debut: Bucks Host Rayz Tonight

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will open their 2007-08 pre-season schedule tonight when they host Southeast Division foe Corpus Christi at the LEC. Game time is 7pm. Tickets for all prices levels are buy one get one free. Ticket prices range from $12-$36.
This is the first of three pre-season games in three nights for the Bucks, who will play Austin on Thursday and Friday, with Thursday's game taking place in Austin, and Friday's game in College Station.
The Bucks have 25 players on their pre-season roster, but are dressing 18 tonight. Team Captain Serge Dube, Veteran Paul Elliott, All-Star Chris Korchinski, Igor Agarunov, and Jeff Genovy will be the returning Bucks suiting up tonight. Also suiting up for Laredo tonight will be fourth-year defenseman David Walker, second-year All-Star forward Rane Carnegie, and second year defenseman David Mullins. Walker was the Long Beach (ECHL) captain for the past two years, Carnegie had 38 points in his All-Star year for Bakersfield (ECHL), while Mullins played in 37 games for four teams, finishing up with Toledo (ECHL).
The battle at the goaltender spot starts tonight, with Ryan Senft and Kevin Beech getting the nod in net against the Rayz. Senft, who is in his third pro season, went 13-7-1 last season, with a .907 save percentage, and a 3.36 goals against average while playing for the Columbus Cottonmouths of the SPHL. Beech is a rookie, having played just six pro games last year for the AHL's Springfield Falcons. He went 0-3 with a 3.13 goals against average, and a .903 save percentage. Including Beech, the Bucks will play eight rookies tonight.
Bucks head coach/GM Terry Ruskowski will hand over the coaching duties to Veteran/assistant coach Jeff Bes tonight. Ruskowski will watch the game and evaluate players from the press area.
The Rayz will also suit up 18 players tonight, with five being returning players led by goaltender Kevin Couture.
The Bucks and the LEC encourage fans attending tonights game to leave home a bit early tonight because of the construction on Jacaman road.
