LAST TIME OUT: The Skeeters won their home stand opener against the Blue Crabs 2-1.

THE RACE IS ON: The Skeeters now have 20 games left in the first half and their 30-27 record makes them two games back of York for first place in the Freedom Division. After Southern Maryland, the Skeeters will host a four-game set against Somerset. The Skeeters then hit the road to take on Southern Maryland and Long Island and will wrap up the first half with three games against the New Britain Bees and a big four-game set against the 1st place York Revolution.

AGAINST SOUTHERN MARYLAND IN 2016: The Skeeters are 2-2 against the Blue Crabs so far this season (2-2 at Constellation Field, 0-0 at Regency Furniture Stadium).

BARFIELD OF DREAMS: Jeremy Barfield has now hit safely in 21 of his last 23 G after going 1-3, HR, RBI Monday against Southern Maryland. Over that span, Barfield is hitting .387 (36-93), 5 HR, 17 RBI with 13 multi-hit games. Barfield is also on a 6 G hitting-streak, batting .407 (11-27), 2 HR, 3 RBI

A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF LOOP: Derrick Loop earned his 14th save Monday night which is good for 2nd in the Atlantic League behind York's Mike Demark (14/14 on Sv. Opp).He also pushed his home scoreless streak to 12 consecutive games. Loop has only allowed 2 ER in his last 47 appearances dating back to June 21 of the 2015 season. Total Stat Line: 47 App: (1-0, 0.35 ERA), 51.1 IP, 31 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 26 Sv., 55 K, 17 BB, 0.93 WHIP.

RECENT TRANSACTIONS: The Skeeters moved Johan Limonta and Tyson Gillies to the disabled list and signed OF Ben Guez.
