LAST TIME OUT: The Skeeters split their double-header on Wednesday night against the Blue Crabs, taking Game 1, 4-3 in extras, but came up short in Game 2, falling to Southern Maryland 2-1.
PENNANT RACE: The Skeeters have 4 games remaining in the first half of the season and are two games behind York for 1st place in the Freedom Division.
ALL-TIME AGAINST SOUTHERN MARYLAND: The Skeeters are 42-47 in the all-time series against the Blue Crabs (22-24 at Constellation Field, 20-23 at Regency Furniture Stadium).
AGAINST SOUTHERN MARYLAND IN 2016: The Skeeters are 4-5 against the Blue Crabs so far this season (2-4 at Constellation Field, 2-1 at Regency Furniture Stadium).
HALE OF A STARTER: Jake Hale has been a great addition to the Skeeters starting rotation as the right-hander has posted a 2.81 ERA through his first three starts, including a complete game against Somerset on June 25. Stat Line: (1-0, 2.81 ERA, 19.2 IP, 22 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 16 K, 2 BB.
SKEETERS ROYALTY: Josh Prince has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 G, batting .342 (13-38), HR, 4 RBI. With hits in both games of last night's double-header, Prince has also extended his hitting-streak to seven consecutive games, doing so while hitting .370 (10-27).
BEAMER WEEMS is slowly creeping up on the .200 mark after spending most of the season in the .100's. Over the last 10 G, Weems has begun to hit his stride, batting .314 (11-35), 3 RBI in his last 10 G.
PATRICK PALMEIRO has also been on a tear of his own of late, batting .312 (10-32), 2 HR, 10 RBI in his last 10 G.
ANDREW JOHNSTON continued his road dominance with two scoreless innings against the Blue Crabs on Wednesday night which pushed his scoreless streak to 12 consecutive games. Total Road Stat Line: (2-0,0.00 ERA) 12 G, 0 GS, 1 Sv. 15.1 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 13 K, 2 BB.
