The Bloomington PrairieThunder hockey team is inviting youngsters 14-and-under to join in the fun of being a member of its Kids Club and receive behind the scenes access to PrairieThunder hockey.

The club, which is being sponsored by Carl's Ice Cream, allows all members to receive one-of-a-kind Kid's Club items and be invited to special events that are exclusive to members only.

Membership is just $20 and includes:

Invitation to three Kid's Club meetings where selected players will be available to answer questions, sign autographs and visit with members. Included at the meeting will be a free meal of a hot dog, fries, small soft drink and ice cream for members;

Opportunity to be selected as the Kid's Club "Kid of the Game" and take part in the puck drop before the game;

Specially designed Kid's Club T-shirt;

Voucher for free ticket to Sunday home games;

Kid's Club membership card, which entitles the holder to a 10 percent discount on items in the team store;

End-of-the-year autograph session and party with the team

"Carl's Ice Cream is a great fit amd meeting place for the club," said PrairieThunder assistant general manager Bryan Bloodworth. "It is a fun and affordable way to get up close and personal with the team. The PrairieThunder appreciates the support of the young people at our games."

Kid's Club meetings will be at Carl's Ice Cream, 1700 W. College Ave., Normal on Jan. 27, Feb. 24 and March 24. The April 5 meeting will be at U.S. Cellular Coliseum following the PrairieThunder game.

Kids can sign up for membership at all PrairieThunder games, beginning with Saturday's 7:05 contest at U.S. Cellular Coliseum by stopping by the team store or team portable on the concourse level
