
PrairieThunder Loses to Muskegon 7-4

MUSKEGON, Mich. - Luke Stauffacher scored two goals in the first three minutes to lead Muskegon to a 7-4 victory over the Bloomington PrairieThunder in International Hockey League action Friday before 2,664 people at L.C. Walker Arena.
Stauffacher scored his first goal 56 seconds into the game off an assist by Chad Costello. He added his second goal two minutes later on an assist by Steven Later. Matt Gens unassisted power play goal five minutes later gave the Lumberjacks a 3-0 lead after one period.
Muskegon pushed the advantage to 4-0 on Billy Collins' goal with 17:33 left in the second period off assists by Adam Bartholomay and Costello.
The PrairieThunder then scored the next three goals in the second period to draw within 4-3. Jon Booras started the onslaught with a goal off assists by Jan Jas and Henry Kuster with 15:09 remaining.
Geoff Patton scored his first goal of the season at the 10:13 mark on assists by Marty Standish and Travis Granbois. Defenseman Shaun Fisher added a power play goal with an assist by Booras with 9:44 remaining.
Muskegon extended its lead to 5-3 with 2:47 to go in the second period on a Dan Boeser power play goal with assists to Chad Woollard and Gens. Robin Bouchard made it 6-3 early in the third period on a power play goal with assists Woollard and Boeser.
Woollard then scored a power play goal at the midway point of the third period on assists by Todd Robinson and Bouchard as the Lumberjacks moved their record to 20-10-2-1 (43 points).
Granbois scored Bloomington's final goal at the 9:32 mark on assists by John Neal and Adam Tomkow.
The loss dropped Bloomington's record to 12-22-1-0 (25 points) ahead of Saturday's 7:05 p.m. contest at U.S. Cellular Coliseum against Flint.
