The Bloomington PrairieThunder kept its International Hockey League playoff hopes alive Friday with a 3-1 victory at Muskegon before 2,232 people.
Adam Edinger, Neil Clark and Blake Stewart scored goals for the PrairieThunder, who moved its playoff point total to 61, just eight behind the fourth-place Fury and nine behind third-place Flint. Bloomington has a 27-34-3-4 record.
The PrairieThunder trails Kalamazoo for fifth-place by six points and plays host to the Wings at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Edinger scored the PrairieThunder's first goal in the first period off assists from Kyle McCullough and Clark, who gave the PrairieThunder a 2-0 lead in the second period off assists from Don Parsons and Rod Aldoff on the power play.
Billy Collins got Muskegon on the scoreboard in the second period with Dan Riedel getting the assist. Stewart then scored the PrairieThunder's final goal with 7:50 remaining in the game to ice the victory. Aldoff and Edinger had assists.
Loic Lacasse posted the win in goal for the PrairieThunder, stopping 36 of 37 shots to move his record to 16-17-2-3.
