The Bloomington PrairieThunder is ready to open the home portion of our 2010-2011 Central Hockey League schedule at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum this coming Friday & Saturday night. The PrairieThunder faces two brand new CHL opponents in the Odessa Jackalopes and Tulsa Oilers. Game time each night is 7:05pm and tickets remain available for both contests. The PThunder is 1-0 on the year and head into the weekend tied for third in the CHL's Turner (Northern) Conference.

Odessa is 1-1 on the young season and is tied for fourth in the CHL's Berry (Southern) Conference The Jackalopes leading scorer, Sebastien Thinel (2 goals, 2assists, 4 points) is also the franchise's all-time leader in points (541), goals (202), assists (339), power play goals (76), and game winning goals (32). Odessa's goaltender, Joel Martin, has returned to the team after spending training camp and the first two weeks of the season with the AHL Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Former IHL MVP with the Muskegon Lumberjacks, Todd Robinson, has joined the Jackalopes. Central Hockey League Commissioner Duane Lewis will be in attendance at Friday night's home opener. Bloomington Mayor Steve Stockton will make a special presentation prior to Friday night's game proclaiming October 22nd as "Trailer Choir Day". The Trailer Choir will be singing the National Anthem on Friday night
Saturday, October 23rd @ 7:05pm vs. Tulsa Oilers

Tulsa is one of the "original six" franchises from the rebirth of the Central Hockey League in 1992. The other members of the fraternity still in the league are the Wichita Thunder and Memphis RiverKings. This will be Tulsa's first game against a former IHL team. Tulsa is tied for second in the Berry Conference with a record of 2-1. Tulsa's leading scorer is Jack Combs (3 goals & 4 assists: 7 points). Earlier this week, Tulsa signed former Flint General John Mori.

Tickets are on sale at the Coliseum Box Office Monday through Friday from 11am to 5:30pm and on weekends when there are events in the Coliseum.
