Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Thursday that they have signed rookie forward Addison DeBoer for the 2010-11 season. DeBoer is expected to be in the line-up for the Bucks home opener Saturday against Rio Grande Valley.
DeBoer was released by the Alaska Aces (ECHL) on October 13th making him a free agent.
The 22-year-old DeBoer turned professional at the end of last season playing 10 games with the Quad City Mallards. DeBoer put up five points (2-35) with the Mallards. DeBoer is still a rookie having played in less than 25 professional games.
DeBoer, a native of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, spent four seasons with Colorado College prior to turning professional last season. DeBoer was named to the WCHA All Academic Team in 2008-09 and 2009-10. In 136 games with the Tigers DeBoer put up 34 points (14-2034) to go along with 95 PIM's.
"Addison is a very skilled and intelligent hockey player," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He's fits into our systems. We heard good things about him both on and off the ice."
In the 2009-10 season the 5'11'', 180 pound DeBoer put up a career-high 14 points (5-914) and had 30 PIM's in 38 games. DeBoer's nine assists that season were also a career high.
In 2008-09 DeBoer picked up six points (3-36) and had 20 PIM's.
During the 2007-08 campaign DeBoer had four points (1-34) and 12 PIM's as he helped lead the Tigers to the WCHA regular season championship and a trip to the NCAA tournament with a 28-12-1 record.
In his freshman year of 2006-07 DeBoer had 10 points (5-510) and 33 PIM's for the Tigers.
