Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release
Tyler Shelast scored two goals for the Quad City Mallards, including the game winner at 12:40 of the second period, and the Moline, Illinois based Mallards defeated the Bloomington PrairieThunder 5-2 on Wednesday evening. With the loss, Bloomington's "magic number" to clinch home ice in the upcoming first round of the CHL Playoffs remains at one point. Bloomington (36-21-6) stays at 78 points in the standings, two points behind second place Rapid City and four points behind first place Colorado. Quad City improves to 34-29-1, good for 69 points. The Mallards are three points behind fifth place Wichita.
Jason Williams put the PrairieThunder ahead 1-0 at 14:09 of the first period and after Quad City went ahead 2-1, John Snowden tied the game at 6:51 of the second. But that would be it for PThunder scoring as Quad City closed out the game with three unanswered tallies. Bloomington finishes up the season series against Quad City at 3-7-1.
Bloomington is back home at U.S. Cellular Coliseum this coming Friday night @ 7:05pm against the Evansville IceMen.
