PrairieThunder Drop Game #1 of the Playoffs 5-2 on Saturday Night

The Fort Wayne Komets veterans came to play on Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum as the Komets took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five Turner Conference Quarterfinals by defeating the Bloomington PrairieThunder 5-2. Game two of the series is Sunday afternoon @ 3:05pm.

Mathieu Curadeau scored twice for Fort Wayne and veterans Tab Lardner, Leo Thomas, and P.C. Drouin each tallied once for the victors. Goaltender Nick Boucher stopped 35 of 37 PrairieThunder shots. After Fort Wayne made it 4-0, Bloomington made things interesting with two third period goals from Brodie Sheahan and Jason Deleurme before Curadeau closed out the scoring with his second of the game into an empty net.
