Jeff Mushaluk's first goal of the season 8:29 into the third period gave the Bloomington PrairieThunder the lead as it defeated the Chicago Hounds, 4-3, Thursday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum with an attendence of 2,528.
The victory snapped a 4-game losing streak for the PrairieThunder, who moved its overall record to 2-5-0. The loss dropped Chicago's record to 2-3-0. It was the Hounds third straight loss.
The PrairieThunder scored three of its goals on power plays. Jon Jankus scored the first goal at the 15:49 mark of the first period off an assist by Tyler Rennette and Mike Clarke. Other PrairieThunder goals were scored by Jason Lawmaster in the second period and Garett Cameron in the third period.
Chicago's goals came from Mike Brolsma, Paul Caponigri and Mike Zbriger. Bloomington goalie, Jeff Reynaert had 38 saves on 41 shots.
