Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Injury and illness have forced Bloomington PrairieThunder coach Jarrod Skalde to make roster moves ahead of weekend games against Muskegon today and Fort Wayne on Sunday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Skalde announced that rookie forward Mike Liambas, who has been stricken with the H1N1 flu virus, has been placed on the 14-day injury list retroactive to Dec. 14 and that left wing Robin Gomez underwent surgery Friday to repair his broken nose.

Skalde also announced the signings of forward Chase Watson and Kyle Laughlin to International Hockey League contracts. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not released.

Gomez, who has continued to play despite having his nose broken in the Dec. 12 game against Quad City, will be out of action until Dec. 26 when the PrairieThunder meets the Mallards. Liambas will be eligible to come off the injury list Dec. 27 when Bloomington plays at Quad City.
