
Powless Named Rookie of the Week

Buffalo, N.Y. (April 6, 2005) â The Buffalo Bandits announced today Delby Powless has been named Rookie of the Week for his performance against the Rochester Knighthawks in Week 14. Powless recorded two goals and two assists, as Buffalo clinched a playoff berth for the third consecutive season.
With his second assist of the night, the Six Nations, Ontario native broke the franchise record for most assists in a rookie season (24). Derek Keenan set the original record, which had stood for 13 years, in 1992 during the franchise's inaugural season.
Powless currently ranks fifth on the Bandits in assists, goals (20) and points (44). He is five points and six goals shy of the franchise rookie record in each those respective categories.
The Bandits next home game will be against the San Jose Stealth at the HSBC Arena on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 7:30 PM.
