April 6, 2005 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Anaheim Storm News Release

Anaheim, CA (April 6, 2005) - Anaheim Storm Goaltender Matt Roik has dominated the National Lacrosse League's Player Awards for Week #14, winning both the Overall Player of the Week and the Defensive Player of the Week awards. The accolades come after an impressive performance in goal last Saturday against the Colorado Mammoth. Roik recorded 52 saves, allowing only six goals, and collecting three loose balls in the 10-6 road win.

As a result of the win, the Storm remain in the West Division playoff race. Here is the scenario going into Week #15:

The Anaheim Storm (4-9) face the Minnesota Swarm (3-11) this Saturday, April 9, at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim. Earlier this season, the Storm beat the Swarm in Minnesota, 8-7, giving them their first road win. A win against the Swarm, along with a win by Colorado in Arizona, will keep the Storm in the playoff race. The Storm would then face Arizona in a home-and-home series next weekend to battle over the third and final playoff spot in the West Division.

Good seats are still available for the last two home games of the season, April 9 and April 15. Individual tickets start at just $10 and are on sale now at the Arrowhead Pond Box Office, ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets. Group discounts are also available; call 714.704.2670 for details. Visit the official Storm web site, anaheimstorm.com, for the latest news and updates.
