Roik named Players of the Week

A trio of players who came through in games with playoff implications last weekend were honored for their performances. Anaheim Storm goaltender Matt Roik earned his first weekly awards of the season in Week #14 for his performance in Anaheim's 10-6 road victory over the Colorado Mammoth on April 2nd. Roik, who is in his fourth pro season, earned the Overall and Defensive Player of the Week for Week #14. Roik was stellar in goal for the Storm, recording 52 saves and allowing only six goals in the Anahiem victory. The win improved Anaheim to 4-9 and kept their playoff hopes alive. Colin Doyle of the Toronto Rock earned his second consecutive Offensive Player of the Week Award for tallying 19 points (8G, 11A) in a pair of wins in Week #14. Buffalo Bandits rookie forward Delby Powless was named the Rookie of the Week for a four point (2G, 2A) performance in an 11-9 Bandits win over Rochester.

Matt Roik of the Anaheim Storm was named the Overall and Defensive Player of the Week for Week #14. Roik was stellar in goal for the Storm recording 52 saves, allowing only six goals, and collecting three loose balls in a 10-6 win over the Colorado Mammoth. Roik was clutch in a must-win situation as the victory keeps Anaheim's playoff hopes alive.

Colin Doyle of the Toronto Rock earned his second consecutive Offensive Player of the Week Award for tallying 19 points (8G, 11A) in a pair of wins in Week #14. Doyle scored five goals and added three assists for eight points, scored the game-winning goal, and collected four loose balls in a 16-10 home win over Calgary on Friday. Doyle also scored three goals and added eight assists for 11 points and scooped up five loose balls in a 17-15 road win over Philadelphia on Saturday. With the wins, Toronto clinched a playoff berth in Week #14.

Buffalo Bandits rookie forward Delby Powless was named the Rookie of the Week for a four point (2G, 2A) performance in an 11-9 Bandits win over Rochester. Powless scored two goals and added two assists for four points and collected two loose balls in an 11-9 home win over Rochester on Friday. With the win, Buffalo clinched a playoff berth.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Colin Doyle (Toronto) – (2GP, 8G, 11A, 19pts, 9LB, GWG) scored five goals and added three assists for eight points, scored the game-winning goal, and collected four loose balls in a 16-10 home win over Calgary on Friday. Doyle also scored three goals and added eight assists for 11 points and scooped up five loose balls in a 17-15 road win over Philadelphia on Saturday. With the wins, Toronto clinched a playoff berth in Week #14.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Matt Roik (Anaheim) – (52 saves, 6GA, 3LB) recorded 52 saves and allowed six goals in a 10-6 road win over Colorado on Saturday. Roik also scooped up three loose balls in the win. With the win Anaheim remains alive in the playoff hunt.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Delby Powless (Buffalo) – (2G, 2A, 4pts, 2LB) scored two goals and added two assists for four points and collected two loose balls in an 11-9 home win over Rochester on Friday. With the win Buffalo clinched a playoff berth.

OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
