Amarillo Bulls News Release

Amarillo, TX - Three powerplay goals and Charlie Glockner's second consecutive shutout powered the Amarillo Bulls past the New Mexico Ice Wolves in Albuquerque on Saturday night.

The Bulls and the Ice Wolves skated to a scoreless first period, as Amarillo fired 18 shots on net, creating chance after chance but not tallying a goal on any of them.

The second period played out drastically different for Amarillo, as the offense went to work just 1:26 into the period when Devan Tongue worked from the side of the slot and tucked home a powerplay goal to make the score 1-0. Just over a minute later, Tongue, again on the powerplay, would net his second of the night from the same position as his first.

The Bulls were not done scoring in the second period, as Noah Carlin scored a powerplay goal on a close-in one-timer from a Matt Allen feed. With a 3-0 score line, Jordan Venegoni would bounce the puck between the pads of Ice Wolves goalie Henrik Laursen to give the Bulls a 4-0 lead that they would take into the third period.

The Bulls would hold onto their 4-0 lead and capture the victory, as Charlie Glockner stopped all 23 shots he faced, as he recorded his second shutout in as many nights and his fourth on the season.

The win lifts Amarillo to a 13-4-1-2 record and into sole possession of the second spot in the NAHL's South Division standings.

The Bulls return home to the Budweiser Bull Pen on Friday, November 22 to take on the Odessa Jackalopes in the first meeting between the two sides this season. Mark Shelley will broadcast the game from the Spicy Mike's Bar-B-Q Broadcast Booth, and the action will begin at 7:05PM CST on 107.1 Nash Icon and Hockey TV.
