TONIGHT: The Potomac Nationals and Frederick Keys meet in the third game of a four-game series...The P-Nats have won the first two after a 6-4, come-from-behind victory last night...Potomac has a season-high 4 1/2 game lead over Frederick in the Carolina League Northern Division coming into play today.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Potomac Nationals right-hander Terrence Engles makes his Carolina League debut tonight after officially being added to the Potomac roster today...The 22-year-old was 3-0 with a 1.89 ERA in six games, three starts, with Low-Hagerstown prior to his promotion...In his three starts, the Staten Island, N.Y., native was 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA...He sat out all of last season for personal reasons...The former Seminole Community College Raider was signed in 2004 by the Montreal Expos after being selected in the 20th-round of the 2003 draft...He entered 2008 with a career 4-15 record and 5.73 ERA...Frederick tosses right-hander Pedro Beato who was activated off of the temporary inactive list prior to yesterday's game...The 21-year-old has not started in 10 days since knocking off Wilmington for his third straight win on April 22, working five innings and allowing just one run on six hits with five strikeouts and a walk...He has given up 21 hits in 21 1/3 innings and half of the eight runs he has allowed came in his debut on April 6 against Lynchburg in his only loss...The ninth-rated prospect in the Baltimore Orioles organization went 7-8 with a 4.05 ERA in 27 starts with Low-A Delmarva a season ago, allowing 139 in 142 innings while striking out 106 and walking 59.

THIRD TIME IS THE CHARM: The Potomac Nationals homered a season-high three times in last night's contest against Frederick...Chris Marrero and Seth Bynum became the first two P-Nats to homer in the same inning this season...Leonard Davis matched Matt Wieters for the league-lead in homers in 41 fewer at-bats with his solo blast in the bottom of the first...Potomac is second in the CL in home runs with 21, trailing Myrtle Beach's 22.

A GOOD RUN: The Potomac Nationals are currently 5-0 on this seven-game homestand...The P-Nats offense came to life last night scoring six runs, five in the bottom of the sixth, after the club only mustered seven runs over that the first four contests...Potomac has outscored Winston-Salem and Frederick 13-7 during the streak...The Nationals have collected 10 hits for the first time since April 18 in a 6-1 win over Wilmington...The six runs scored were also the most since the 18th...Prior to last night, Potomac had only 17 hits (4.25 per game) through the first four games of the current seven-game homestand...All five games played have been decided by two runs or less with four decided by a lone run and two extra inning contests.

GOOD PFITZ: The Potomac Nationals have enjoyed playing at Pfitzner Stadium this season...The club is a league-best 13-1 (.929) at home with its only loss coming April 17 against Wilmington, 5-4...Dating back to last season, the P-Nats have won 21 of their last 22 home games (.955)...The Nationals have the best home record in all of minor league baseball and are tied with the Huntsville Stars of the Double-A Southern League for most wins (13-2) at home...The Salt Lake Bees are second with a .909 winning percentage (10-1) and are the only other one-loss team at home.

VIEW FROM THE TOP: Today marks the 23rd consecutive day the P-Nats have been in or had a share of the division lead after moving to the top spot on April 10...Last season the Nationals spent 31 consecutive days in first from April 5 through May 5...The P-Nats ended the first half in last place, 10 games under .500 and only saw first place for one day, June 21, after May 5.

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING: The Potomac Nationals announced today that pitchers Cory VanAllen and Zech Zinicola have been promoted to Double-A Harrisburg. VanAllen had been one of the most consistent pitchers this season in the Nationals organization, going 3-0 with Potomac and posting the Carolina League's lowest ERA (0.66). The left-hander was dominant throughout his five appearances allowing only two earned runs in 27 1/3 innings. He has not allowed a run over his last 13 innings on the mound. Zinicola had been Potomac's most dominant reliever, not allowing a run in 12 1/3 innings. The 2006 Washington Nationals Pitcher of the Year allowed just three hits to the 42 batters he faced while limiting opponents to a .079 batting average against. The 23-year-old struck out 15 and walked three.

WELCOME BACK: Craig Stammen re-joins the Nationals after appearing in one game with the Triple-A Columbus Clippers. The right-hander allowed one run on one hit in two innings against the Leigh Valley IronPigs on Thursday night at Cooper Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The 24-year-old made six relief appearances with the P-Nats prior to his promotion on Tuesday and posted a 2.25 ERA while striking out 14 and walking three in 16 innings on the mound. Stammen is expected to join the Nationals rotation.
