Potomac Nationals right-hand relief pitcher Anthony Pearson has been named Pitcher of the week for the week of May 9-15.

Pearson, a fifth round pick in 2002, made two relief appearances last week posting wins against Kinston and Myrtle Beach. He pitched a total of 8.2 innings, allowing only one unearned run on three hits. The Baton Rouge, LA native also struck out 10 and walked four during both outings.

Pearson is currently on the Nationals DL with a right elbow strain.

Kinston Indians third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff was named the Carolina League Batter of the Week for the second time this season.

Kouzmanoff went 15-for-28 for the week with a .536 batting average and 1.000 slugging percentage. He homered in three straight games against Frederick last weekend. He also collected three doubles and drove in 11 runs during the series.
