
Potential Grizzly Signs With Dallas

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate, the Dallas Stars, announced today that they have signed left wing David Bararuk (BAIR-a-ruhk) to a three-year contract. Per club policy, the details of the agreement were not disclosed.
The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native has played junior hockey in his hometown for the last four seasons with the Western Hockey League's (WHL) Moose Jaw Warriors. Last season was by far his best with the Warriors as he totaled 93 points (29-64 - 93) in 66 games including 12 power play goals. Among all WHL players, he ranked second in assists (64) and tied for seventh in points (93). In 13 playoff games with Moose Jaw, he posted five goals and nine assists.
Following the season, Bararuk was named the Warrior's Most Valuable Player and also received the team's Humanitarian Award.
During his four-year career with Moose Jaw, the 6-0, 175-pound winger scored 68 goals and added 104 assists in 212 games.
Bararuk, 20, was selected by the Stars in the fifth round (147th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and could see time with the Grizzlies next season.
