Ports Announce Play-by-Play Broadcaster

STOCKTON, CA — The Stockton Ports announced today that Toby Hyde will return for the 2005 season as the Ports Director of Broadcasting. Hyde will be the ‘Voice of the Ports' for all Ports games throughout the 2005 season that will be broadcasted live by KSTN AM 1420. KSTN will carry all 70 Ports Home games , as well as all 70 Road games, live this season.

"We are very excited to have Toby back on board for the 2005 season," said Ports General Manager Mike McCarroll. "His experience with the Ports in 2004 and Stanford Woman's Basketball makes him what we feel is the best broadcaster in the California League."

Toby returns for his second season with the Stockton Ports, and second in baseball. A 2003 graduate of Stanford University, Toby also broadcasts Stanford Women's Basketball. In addition, he has worked for TV, appearing on the Stanford Cardinal Farm Report on KMVT, and baysportsradio.com.

"I am very excited to be returning to the Ports," said Hyde. "The new partnership with KSTN AM 1420, Banner Island Ballpark and the Oakland A's affiliation brings everything together for the Ports, all which will lead to a very exciting year of broadcasting."
