
Portland's Wicks Named First Division Player Of The Week

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Timbers goalkeeper Josh Wicks was named the USL First Division Player of the Week for Week 11, it was announced today. Additionally, midfielder Andrew Gregor picked up his third Team of the Week selection this season.
Last week, Wicks recorded shutout victories over the California Victory and Miami FC, bringing his season totals to six shutouts in 11 matches. With a record of 6-2-3, Wicks leads the league in wins (6), shutouts (6), goals allowed (7) and goals-against average (0.63). He earned his first career assist in the win against the Victory setting up David Hague's game-winning goal in the 89th minute.
Gregor earned his third Team of the Week selection with a 55-yard assist to Lawrence Olum in a 1-0 stoppage-time win against Miami FC over the weekend. Gregor paces the team with five goals and two assists, and is among league leaders in both goals and points. He was previously selected to the Team of the Week in Week 1 and was also named Player of the Week in Week 4.
The Timbers battle the California Victory on Saturday at Kezar Stadium at 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on www.portlandtimbers.com. Saturday's match is the first in a series of three consecutive matches against California.
