THE IMPACT IN SHERBROOKE FOR THE FOURTH TIME
The Montreal Impact is playing Sunday its 15th game of the season (9th of 14 at home) against the Carolina RailHawks, one of two USL First Division expansion franchises, at Sherbrooke University Stadium, at 4 pm (Télévision de Radio-Canada, Sirius, CJAD 800, USLlive.com). The Montreal Impact (6-3-5) was shut out 2-0 by the California Victory (2-6-5), Sunday, in front of 12,255 spectators at Laval University PEPS Stadium. The Montreal Impact had to play a man down from the 43rd minute, following the ejection of defender Mauricio Vincello, who received his second yellow card of the game for tackling Victory defender Luis Aguilar. A goal from midfielder Antonio Ribeiro in stoppage time of the second half led the Montreal Impact to a 1-0 shut out against the Puerto Rico Islanders, Friday, in front of 12,844 spectators at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex. On the play, defender Simon Gatti made a pass to Ribeiro, who took the time to control the ball at the top of the box before taking a low, diagonal shot. For Ribeiro, it was his first goal of the season, while Gatti's assist was his first career point with the Impact. The Montreal Impact will hold its third public practice of the season on Wednesday, July 4, at 7 pm at Dorion Garden Park, in Vaudreuil-Dorin. Presented by Jos Louis, the practice will feature drills, animation as well as the chance to win promotional items. The whole team and coaching staff will be on site. There will be prizes and an autograph session. Team mascot Tac-Tik will also participate in the event. A total of seven public practices will take place throughout the summer. CONTEST
