Portland Winterhawks News Release
Hawks Happenings On The Ice:
With back-to-back wins on the road this weekend, the Winterhawks improved their record to 8-2-0-1, with their 17 points the most in the WHL. The team has 44 goals, tying them for second in the league, and has posted a 6-1 record on the road. The road record will remain untouched for a few weeks, as the team gets set for a six-game homestand that begins Wednesday against Everett.
Linemates Ty Rattie and Sven Bartschi are terrorizing opponents. Rattie had eight points in two games over the weekend, including the Winterhawks' first hat trick of the season Friday in Kamloops. He has 13 points in the last five games, and 21 overall on the season, second in the league.
Meanwhile, Bartschi has 12 points over the last two games, and his 18 points on the season ties him for fourth overall in the league and is first among rookies, seven points ahead of the next-highest first-year player. Bartschi leads all rookies in points (18), goals (8), assists (10), power play goals (4), game-winning goals (2) and plus/minus (+7).
Rattie and team captain Brett Ponich are tied for the league lead in plus/minus, as each holds a +12 rating.
