ROOKIES SHINE IN 6‐3 WIN OVER KOOTENAY 

It was a night of rookie success for the Moose Jaw Warriors.  Rookie  Goaltender Brandon Stone started off in net for a period and a half, making  10/12 saves before being replaced by veteran Thomas Heemskerk.  Kootenay  managed to score on the first shot of the game, yet the Warriors were  waiting on the attack.  Antonin Honejsek scored two goals in a row to give the  tribe a one goal lead.  Twenty year old Dylan Hood buried another to put the  score at 3‐1 heading into the first break. 

The second period has D‐man Collin Bowman scoring his first in a Warriors  uniform just into the second. The ice would not stop coming onto Brandon  Stone and managed to sneak another one by.  The third Ice goal would result  in a goalie change and no further scoring.  Dylan McIlrath dropped the gloves against fellow blue liner,  John Neibrandt.  The fans were on their feet for the big man's first fight at home in several games. 

The final period of play brought on two more Warriors goals from rookie Morgan Rielly and another from  Dylan Hood.  The Warriors improved upon special team, cashing in on 3/9 power plays and only allowing  Kootenay 1/2 power play goals.  Rookie Sam Fioretti went home with third star and 3 assists. Morgan  Rielly also had 2 assists along with his goal.  Quinton Howden and Dylan Hood each had two points and 19  year old defencemem Collin Bowman went home with 3 points. 

The Warriors have the weekend off and return to the Civic Center next Tuesday and Wednesday for a two  game home stand.

WARRIORS PREPARE FOR LEAGUE LEADING BLADES  

The Warriors will face the Saskatoon Blades Tuesday at the Civic Center in  their second matchup of the season.  The Warriors came from behind in  the last meeting to eventually fall 6‐4.  The Blades have been mighty hot  to start the season.  Thomas Heemskerk made 28 saves in the loss.  Darian  Dziurzynski, who was named WHL player of the week, led the Blades with  a hat trick.  Twenty year old goal tender Steven Stanford made 22 saves in  the win. 

WARRIORS TO TAKE ON TIGERS WEDNESDAY

The Moose Jaw Warriors take on the Medicine Hat Tigers on Wednesday.   The Tigers are 4‐3 on the season.    Medicine Hat is coming off of back to  back wins against the Edmonton Oil Kings.  Linden Vey leads the Tigers in  assists with 9 and most points at 10.

    WARRIORS EDUCATION FUND RECEIVES $51,988.00 BOOST    

The Warriors accepted a cheque on behalf  of the Warriors Men's Golf Tournament  committee chair, Todd Hudson in the  amount of $51,9880.00.  The Warriors  Men's Golf Tournament took place in July  and was a major success in bringing  together former Warriors for a weekend of  fun and most importantly, fundraising.   The gracious amount will help fund  Warriors players who pursue secondary  education after their time with the  Warriors.          WARRIORS SPEND SUNDAY AT MINOR HOCKEY JAMBOREE  

Growing and helping develop young hockey  players is part of the Warriors mandate to give  back to the game of hockey and the Moose Jaw  Community.  The Warriors spent Sunday afternoon  with various ages and groups of young minor  hockey players.  Mortimer J Moose stopped by for  a skate as well.  The Jamboree kicks of the Minor  Hockey season in Moose Jaw.  The Warriors attend  many  practices  through out  the year as  part of the  RBC Captain's Club, where they lend a hand to the skaters and  coaches all season long.      Nine Warriors took shifts from 12‐5 Sunday to lend a hand to the  future hockey stars.  

MCKIDS CLUB KICK OFF PARTY 

Friday night was the kick off to another  McKids Club.  McDonalds Restaurant  and the Warriors offered 100 kids free  membership and a Dylan McIlrath tee  shirt to wear to each game.  Through out  the season, Dylan and friends will be  hosting contests and events just for  McKids Club members.  Members who  wear the T‐shirts to Warriors home  game will receive great prizes from  McDonalds.  The Kid's club is full for the  season.  Over fifty kids came out for a  free supper and meet & greet Friday  night.  

WARRIORS NAME SEPTEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH      September's Player of the Month starred in his  first season with the tribe last year.  A walk on  at camp, this twenty year old forward is known  for his work ethic and raw love of the game.  Scoring 6 points in 9 games, this BC native is  setting the stage for a fantastic final season.   September's player of the month was  captain,  #27..... SPENCER EDWARDS.  Spencer receives a  fantastic watch, styled specially for the  Warriors from Zeke's Jewellers.
