Pirates Meet Monarchs in Rematch on Tuesday
Pirates must beat Manchester on Tuesday to keep playoff hopes alive
DOWN TO THE WIRE...
In pursuit of the fourth place Providence Bruins for the final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division, the Pirates host Manchester on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. The Pirates trail the Bruins by six points in the Atlantic Division playoff race, to find out what needs to happen in order for the Pirates to make the playoffs, click here.
Tuesday night is College Night at the Civic Center! The Portland Pirates are teaming up with SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) of the University of Southern Maine to host College Night. The evening is presented by SIFE and sponsored by TD Banknorth and MacDonald Page. The night will include exciting giveaways, plus pre and post game specials at Bleacher's Sports Bar, $3 Dewey's, Rivalries and Gritty McDuff's Brew Pub. All local college students, alumni and staff are invited to attend Tuesday's game for just $8 (Main and Quarter Deck tickets) and one lucky fan will win $1,000 cash! Fans that purchase tickets to this game online or over the phone will get a free six inch meal deal from Subway! Ryan Avery Wins the Pirate for a Day Contest!
This season the Pirates accepted videos from fans who were trying to win their opportunity to be a Pirate for a Day sponsored by SUBWAY Restaurants. Ryan Avery won the contest beating the two other finalists, Jason Lanoie, Pedro Rivera in an online poll. During the Pirates game on April 15th against the Hartford Wolf Pack, Avery will become a Pirate for a Day. The prize pack includes: Pro-rated hockey salary for a day, accommodations at Holiday Inn By the Bay, pre-game meal at SUBWAY restaurants, complete uniform with skates, customized authentic Pirates jersey, player meet-and-greet and much, much more!
Saturday, April 14th vs. Lowell 7:05 p.m.
Saturday is Hockey Night in Portland! This will be the second of two U.S. Cellular Player Card Nights. The first 5,000 fans will receive the second and final set of 12 Portland Pirates player collector cards sponsored by U.S. Cellular. MaineToday.com's SEEN TEAM will be at the game taking pictures of fans. Entertainment will be provided by Mad Science of Maine and New Hampshire! Lee Stearns will also be providing entertainment in the lobby before the game.
Sunday, April 15th vs. Hartford 4:05 p.m.
The Pirates celebrate Fan Appreciation Night with extra prizes and promotions all evening. At the end of the game the Pirates will give their fans the Shirts off their Backs! The Maine Credit Union League will provide a 2006-2007 Portland Pirates team photo to each fan. In celebration of Fan Appreciation Night, Oxford Plains Speedway will be handing out 2,000 tickets to their May 2nd Oxford Acceleration Series race on the way into the arena.
