River City Rascals News Release
O'Fallon, Missouri - The River City Rascals are currently tied for first place in the West Division with the best record in the Frontier League (58-35). They will start their final series of the regular season on the road tonight against the Florence Freedom (41-52). Tonight's game will be very unique as they will see MLB hit king Pete Rose step into the batters box to lead off the game in a ceremonial salute. By the end of this series on Thursday, the Rascals will know their first playoff matchup and date
"There is nothing more thrilling than being a part of a Championship chase, and we are just a week away from embarking on that journey," said Rascals' President Dan Dial. "We have a team that is fully capable of bringing the Frontier League Championship back to St. Louis, and the best way to support them is to pack T.R. Hughes Ballpark for every game. Our goal is to provide the energy and electricity that the players thrive on and let them see how excited the community is about this playoff run."
Playoff tickets are on sale now and can be purchased in a variety of ways. Prices of individual tickets will remain the same as the regular season. Groups of 10 or more or any fan that purchases tickets online in advance using the playoff code "PLAYOFF" will receive a discounted ticket. Fans can also purchase a playoff strip, which would include tickets for all five potential home playoff games, for $40. For games not played, their money would be credited back to their account for future ticket purchases. Tickets purchased now can be used for any potential Rascals home playoff game.
The Wild Card Round of the Frontier League Playoffs will begin on Saturday, September 6. If the Rascals win the West Division, they will open up at home on Wednesday, September 10 at 7:05 PM. If the Rascals don't win the West Division and finish as the third or fourth seed in the Frontier League Playoffs, they will open up at home on Saturday, September 6.
