Players Added to Blizzard Roster

Green Bay, WI – The Green Bay Blizzard announced today that they have been assigned six players by the af2 league office. Four of those players are returning from the 2003 roster. WR/LB Robert Garth (6-4, 235, New Mexico ST.) WR/LB Quentin Ware-Bey (6-1, 195, Edinboro), WR/DB Justin Taplin (6-0, 190, Arizona State), and QB Dennis Gile (6-2, 200, Central Missouri). The two new players assigned are QB Matt Bunyan (6-6, 245, UW-Stout) and WR/DB Mitch Mason (5-10, 180, Missouri Western).

Robert Garth – Garth is entering his third season in the af2 and his second with the Blizzard. In 2003, Garth led the Blizzard in receptions with 67 for 732 yards and 18 touchdowns. Garth brings great size and experience to the Blizzard's receiving core.

Quentin Ware-Bey – Ware-Bey is entering his fourth year in af2 and his second with the Blizzard. Ware-Bey suffered an early injury last year, but proved to be a productive receiver towards the end of the year. He totaled 16 receptions for 206 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Justin Taplin – Taplin is entering his second season in the af2 and with the Blizzard. Taplin appeared in only three games for the Blizzard last year but displayed blazing speed. "We are extremely excited about having Justin back with the Blizzard,'' said Coach Noble. Taplin played his college ball at Arizona State, Coach Noble's alma mater.

Dennis Gile – Gile is entering his second season in the af2 and with the Blizzard. Gile was a mid season pickup in 2003 appearing in two games. Gile finished an outstanding career at Central Missouri where he led them to their first bowl and first bowl win. He ended up with a career record of 20-4.

Matt Bunyan – Bunyan is beginning his first year in the af2. A mountain of a man at 6-6 and 245 pounds. At UW-Stout, Bunyan threw for 3220 yards and 38 touchdowns his senior year. Was a Gagliardi Trophy finalist as a NCAA Division III Player of the Year.

Mitch Mason – Mason is entering his first year in the af2. Mason was offered a contract after he impressed the Blizzard coaching staff with his cover skills at the Milwaukee tryout in December. Mason played DB for Missouri Western where he was their career record holder in interceptions until this year.

The Blizzard have also activated FB/LB Joe Rivard from Long Term IR and re-assigned WR/DB Terrence Crimiel.

Season tickets are available by calling the Blizzard office at (920) 405-1264. Season tickets start at $56 for all eight (8) home games. The Blizzard is entering its second season in af2 play starting in April.

Blizzard Open House

The Green Bay Blizzard will be holding their 2004 open house on Monday, March 22 at the Resch Center from 6:30 -8:30.
