
Wardogs Name Assistant Coaches

Columbus, GA - Columbus Wardogs head coach John Fourcade has named his assistant coaches for the upcoming 2004 arenafootball2 season. Al Pellegrino has been named the defensive coordinator, David Daniels will serve as wide receivers and special teams coach, and Mark Rozycki returns as assistant offensive coach. Fourcade will be the team's offensive coordinator.
Pellegrino, 35, joins the Wardogs from the college ranks where he was an assistant coach at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC last year. Pellegrino was the head coach at East Hall High School in Gainesville, GA for four years (1999-2002) and head coach at Savannah High School in Savannah, GA for two seasons (1997-98). A 1990 graduate of Union College, Pelegrino has worked at dozens of college coaching clinics over the past 12 years.
Daniels, 40, was the wide receiver/special teams coach for the af2 Jacksonville Tomcats in 2002 and served as quality control coach for the af2 Macon Knights in 2001. The Albany, GA native played in the Canadian Football League from 1985-89 as a wide receiver for Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto. He starred in both football and track at Tennessee State University from 1981-84.
Rozycki, 50, joined the Wardogs midway through the 2001 season and became a fulltime assistant during the 2002 season. The Columbus resident has been a volunteer coach at Brookstone High School. He played college football at Maine from 1976-79 at tight end and defensive end.
The Wardogs begin training camp on March 17 and will play Australia in an international exhibition game at the Columbus Civic Center on Sunday, March 28.
