DANVILLE, VA - The Danville Braves are extending an invitation to local youth baseball players to sign up for a three day camp that provides professional instruction from players and coaches. The camp will be held July 30 - August 1 at American Legion Post 325 Field in Dan Daniel Memorial Park.
The camp is geared to develop a positive attitude and teach the proper fundamentals of baseball in an encouraging, pressure-free atmosphere. Most of all, the camp wants to instill the values of teamwork, communication, and having fun while playing baseball.
Each session will last from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with lunch provided after instruction. Drills will cover the basics of hitting, fielding, pitching, and applying learned skills in scrimmages.
The camp is open for all children ages 6-12, and while bats and balls will be provided, attendees must bring their own glove labeled with their name. Campers are allowed to bring a preferred bat. Recommended attire for the camp includes baseball pants, t-shirt, and either cleats or sneakers. Campers wearing open-toed shoes will not be allowed to participate.
The cost of the camp is $75 per camper and includes an official D-Braves Camp t-shirt, and two free tickets to the August 1 game against the Pulaski Mariners. Campers will receive special recognition on the field prior to the game.
All campers must fill out and turn in the proper registration and medical waiver forms in order to participate in the camps.
