OWEN SOUND, Ontario â Geoff Platt scored twice including the game winner with under five minutes remaining in regulation as the ERIE OTTERS topped the Owen Sound Attack 4-3 in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 2,430 at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
Alex Karaulchuk netted the other two OTTERS' goals while Josh Patterson collected two assists.
Mark Giordano, Kevin Baker and Todd Griffith scored for the Attack, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end. ERIE led 2-1 after one and 3-2 heading into the third. Griffith tied the game midway through the period setting the stage for Platt's decider.
The OTTERS improved to 27-21-6-6 with the win and used the victory to move past the Attack and into a fifth place tie in the Western Conference with the Plymouth Whalers (27-21-9-3).
Owen Sound dropped to 27-23-7-4 with the loss. The Attack out shot the OTTERS 42-11 in the game as Josh Disher was solid in the victory.
The three stars of the game were 1. Platt; 2. Giordano and 3. Owen Sound forward Patrick Jarrett.
