
Planells leaves the Fame and is headed to Japan

Hernando Planells who finished the season as Head Coach of the Hollywood Fame is leaving the Fame to coach in Japan for the 2006-2007 season. Planells will be coaching the Ryukyu Golden Kings a team based out of Okinawa and is part of the BJ League (Basketball Japan - www.bj-league.com)
"To have the opportunity to coach Internationally is what every coach dreams of doing one time in their career". Planells said. "Basketball in Japan is growing and I hope to play an integral part in their improvement and development".
Planells went on to say "Coaching in Japan would of never taken place without the help of two people I am very close with, Coach Don Casey and Mike Casey. Coach is a tremendous mentor and Mike is an unbelievable friend, without them none of this would be possible and I am forever grateful to them".
