Vermont Frost Heaves News Release

Are you interested in playing pro ball in a world-class city and tourist destination? For a coach with European and NBA connections? For the current ABA Champions?

The Frost Heaves are inviting all prospects to show us what they've got at our 2007 Vermont Open Tryout Camp over the weekend of July 28 and 29.

The deadline for early applications is July 20, 2007, but players may register on-site the morning the camp begins. The camp site will be the Vincent Ross Athletic Complex on the campus of St. Michael's College, 1 Winooski Place in Colchester, Vermont.

Once your application has been confirmed, you'll need to arrive in time to lace 'em up by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday July 28, 2007 and the camp will continue to 6:00 p.m. We'll continue on Sunday July 29, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A discounted room rate is available at the Comfort Inn & Suites, 5 Dorset Street, in South Burlington. (Call 1-800-808-4656 and ask for the Frost Heaves Camp rate.)

To apply, e-mail mike@vermontfrostheaves.com and attach a basketball resume, or apply online at www.vermontfrostheaves.com/camps/Tryout campsby downloading the printable application. Call Michael Healey at 802-860-0084 for more information. Coach Will Voigt (802-578-4172) and assistant coach Wayne Lafley (802-310-1643) are also available to answer any questions.

Founded by SI basketball writer Alexander Wolff, the Frost Heaves won the ABA Championship in their first season and expect to compete for it again next season.

We look forward to seeing everyone on July 28, 2007!

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
