Hollywood Fame News Release
After a long road trip that saw The Hollywood Fame travel to Rochester, NY, Gallup, NM, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Tijuana, Mexico, the Fame was glad to be back in Southern California.
Tonight, The Hollywood Fame defeated the ABA's 6th ranked Beijing Aoshen 110-105.
Last Saturday the Fame defeated the Tijuana Dragones 108-104.
Against Beijing, Hollywood had a balanced attack led by Justin Johnson's 20 points and 5 rebounds, ABA All-Star MVP Billy Knight had 18 points while former Utah Jazz Bryon Russell chipped in with 15 points including 4 for 5 from beyond the arc.
"Its great to come back from a long road trip and win these last two games" Hollywood coach Hernando Planells said. "Beijing is well-coached and I am very proud of our guys coming in here and getting a victory".
Defense was the key to Hollywood's victory, holding Beijing to 27% from beyond the arc and 41% from the field overall. "We wanted to come in here and pressure the ball" Hollywood guard Justin Johnson said. "This was a total team effort on both ends of the court and it paid off in the end".
The Hollywood Fame will be facing the Maywood Buzz this Saturday at 5pm at Santa Monica City College in which will be the final home game for The Fame.
