Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

Pittsburgh, PA - April 1, 2014 - On March 25th, ProsInMotion held the University of Pittsburgh's first Soccer Bowl event at the William Pitt Union, featuring professional soccer players from the Pittsburgh Riverhounds USL franchise.

The Soccer Bowl featured multiple activity stations (including a "howling" contest and a FIFA shootout) that allowed students to connect with and learn more about the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

In addition, students enjoyed refreshments and were awarded prize incentives for their participation. Students also had the opportunity to meet several Riverhounds players and purchase ticket packages for the home opener on April 12th .

The event was a hit with both students and players. Riverhounds goalkeeper Hunter Gilstrap shared his excitement regarding ProsInMotion's efforts. " It's great to see the local universities getting excited about Riverhounds soccer, especially the efforts taken on by the students of the College of Business Administration. As we expand our presence and work towards becoming an MLS franchise, it's important to engage the young audience, who ultimately is a driving force for us to reach the next level."

In an effort to boost student attendance, ProsInMotion is planning a tailgate and game day event on April 12th, 2014. With the home opener game rapidly approaching, midfielder Kevin Kerr reflected on the Soccer Bowl and his wish for the upcoming season. "I had a lot of fun at the event. I hope that some of the students my teammates and I met with at the event come out for a game or two this season at the new stadium and experience the excitement of Pittsburgh soccer."
