Pitching Stalls Cyclones

James McArthur started the afternoon off, tossing four scoreless innings, as the Crosscutters pitcher held the Brooklyn Cyclones to two runs on four hits. Randy Alcantara tossed four shutout frames, allowing two hits and striking out five as he earned his 2nd save of the season.

Ben Pelletier was one of five Crosscutters to finish with a multi-hit game, recording a triple and a double to go with two RBI, leading the Crosscutters offense. Danny Mayer recorded his third, three-hit game of the season, finishing 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles.

Pelletier added a diving grab in the top of the 9th inning helping to close out the game. Ben Aklinski made a phenomenal catch, crashing into the wall in left-center, full speed to take away extra bases as the Cutters gloves aided the pitchers.

The Crosscutters win snapped a streak of nine-straight losses to the Brooklyn Cyclones at MCU Park, that dated back to July 5th , 2012.
