May 30, 2017 - Southern League (SL1)
Birmingham Barons News Release

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Barons and the Chicago White Sox announced before the game today that the team has promoted pitcher Colton Turner to the Class-AAA Charlotte Knights. There will be no corresponding move, putting the active roster at 23 players.

Turner, 26, was an original 21st round pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in 2012 out of Texas State University. The left-hander appeared in 13 games, including one start so far this season for Birmingham, compiling a 4-1 record with a 3.20 ERA, with the four wins marking a current team high. Turner was traded from the Blue Jays to the White Sox on August 26, 2016 in exchange for C Dioner Navarro. This promotion for Turner will mark the first time in his career that he will be pitching at the Triple-A level.

The Barons will kick off a five game homestand tonight against the Chattanooga Lookouts tonight at 7:05 p.m. CT with Matt Cooper on the mound for Birmingham.
