Traverse City Pit Spitters News Release

Wausau, WI - After a 6-0 home stand, the Traverse City Pit Spitters go 0-6 on the road, losing Saturday to the Wausau Woodchucks 4-1.

The Woodchucks snapped Aren Gustafson's 19 inning scoreless streak with a three-run fourth inning. Gustafson hadn't allowed a run since opening day but got touched up today. He allowed another run in the fifth to go down 4-0.

Camden Traficante hit a solo home run in the seventh, his first of the year, to make it 4-1. The Pit Spitters would load the bases in the ninth but left all runners on as they dropped their sixth game in a row.

Mitch White pitched the final three innings out of the bullpen. He kept the Woodchucks off the board, allowing just one hit and struck out three.

All five runs in the game were scored with two outs. Also, Traverse City was held to three hits through the first eight innings but matched that total with three hits in the ninth. The late offense wouldn't be enough.

The Pit Spitters return home Sunday to take on the Green Bay Rockers. First pitch is at 5:05 ET.
