Pirates Sign DL Ezekiel Rose

WORCESTER, MA - The Massachusetts Pirates have signed defensive lineman Ezekiel Rose. The former West Virginia University standout most recently played with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

Rose, (6'2", 308 lbs.) signed with Winnipeg in the 2019 offseason. The following season was lost to the pandemic. In his first professional game in 2021 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Rose suffered a torn ACL. He remained with the team as they went on to win the CFL's Grey Cup.

A product of Clarksdale, MS, Rose signed as an undrafted free agent and went to rookie mini-camp with the New Orleans Saints in 2019.

Rose started in eight of his 25 career games at West Virginia and earned All-Big 12 Second Team academic honors in 2018. That same year he graduated with a degree in multidisciplinary studies.

In two years with the Mountaineers, Rose compiled 42 tackles, had 7.5 tackles for a loss, six sacks and two interceptions. He also had one kick return for 23 yards.

His collegiate playing career began in 2015 at East Mississippi Community College. There he played in 18 games making 44 tackles with eight for a loss, had 6.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.

The 2021 United Bowl Champions; Massachusetts Pirates are members of the Indoor Football League (IFL).
