Pirates Sign Defensive Back Chris Ingram

The Massachusetts Pirates have signed defensive back Chris Ingram for the 2023 season. The 6'-0", 185 lb. d-back played at the North Carolina State University from 2017 through 2021 appearing in 39 games while starting in 18.

During his career Ingram recorded 67 solo stops while assisting on 24 more for a total of 91 tackles. He also had three interceptions and defended 19 passes.

A native of Salisbury, NC, Ingram played his high school ball at Mooresville High School and was recruited by several power five schools including Clemson, North Carolina, Duke and Nebraska. He received offers from the Blue Devils, the Cornhuskers and East Carolina before deciding upon North Carolina State.

Ingram saw the field as a true freshman in 2017 appearing in 13 games. The following season he started in all but one game as a cornerback. That season he recorded his first interception against Marshall and led the team at season's end with nine passes broken up.

In 2019 Ingram started the first six games. In the season opener against East Carolina he made nine tackles and intercepted a pass. He posted the same numbers in week four against Ball State along with two passes broken up. He was lost for the season in week six suffering a knee injury against Syracuse. The team record with Ingram starting was 4 and 2. After his departure the Wolfpack did not win another game that season.

In 2021 Ingram played in seven games after successfully rehabilitating his knee from injury.
