Portland Pirates News Release
PORTLAND, ME â It has been one of the Portland Pirates' most successful fundraisers over the years and this season, the "Evening with the Pirates" will take on a brand new look. The Pirates' players, staff and their families will host the Seventh Annual "Evening with the Pirates" on Tuesday, March 16th. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the evening runs until 8:30 p.m. at One City Center in Portland. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Portland Pirates Foundation and Fleet's "Alive at Five" Outdoor Concert Series. This year, the event will highlight fashions from downtown Portland's finest clothiers, modeled by the Pirates, their wives and families. Citadel Broadcasting is the exclusive broadcast partner.
"The âEvening with the Pirates' has always been well supported by our fans and corporate partners," said Brian Petrovek, Pirates' Managing Owner/CEO and President of the Pirates Foundation. "The fashion element, we think, will enrich the event and be a lot of fun for everyone who attends, and hopefully, help make this one of our most successful events ever."
In addition to the fashion show, the "Evening with the Pirates" will feature live and silent auctions and delicious food and beverages from area restaurants, merchants and distributors. During the past six years, the "Evening with the Pirates" has raised more than $155,000 for area charities and nonprofit organizations.
The Pirates are currently soliciting items for the auctions and tasty treats for the evening. All donors will receive exposure at the event and in the event program. Silent auction items will be creatively combined into gift packages representing each Pirates player. The "Evening with the Pirates" is an event of the Portland Pirates Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) Maine public charitable corporation.
Tickets for the event are on sale now through the Pirates' office at 531 Congress Street in Portland. Tickets may also be ordered by phone at (207) 828-4665, extension 305 and at any Pirates' home game beginning January 23rd. Tickets are just $25 per person 21 and over only.
