Yakima Valley Pippins News Release
RIDGEFIELD, Washington - The first-place Ridgefield Raptors used an offensive explosion to post their fourth straight win against the Pippins this year, a 12-6 decision Friday.
Ridgefield scored five runs in the second and rolled to a 9-1 lead after four innings.
Maxim Fullerton hit his second home run of the summer to close the gap to 9-5 in the sixth, but the Pippins couldn't get any closer.
Three Pippins errors in the second helped the Raptors to the early lead.
The Pippins pulled to within four after plating two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. Before Fulerton's two-run shot in the sixth, Owen Egan served a triple down the right-field line to score Hank Dunn. Jace Phelan knocked in Egan with a single in the fifth.
Dunn and Tommy Eisenstat both were 2-for-3 for the Pippins, and Phelan finished 2-for-5.
The Pippins will look to tie the series Saturday evening, with first pitch at 6:35.
