April 16, 2017 - West Coast League (WCL)
Yakima Valley Pippins News Release

YAKIMA, Wash. - Five fireworks nights. Premium giveaways including hats, bats, sunglasses, water bottles and more. A return appearance by the Mariner Moose. And the biggest in-season baseball party of the year: the West Coast League All-Star Game.

The Yakima Valley Pippins offer those promotions and more as the franchise opens its fourth season in the WCL on Friday, June 2, at Yakima County Stadium.

Single-game tickets for all 31 regular-season home games and the All-Star Game, starting at just $6 when purchased in advance, are now on sale at the Pippins' team office at 12 S. Second St. in the historic Larson Building in downtown Yakima, by calling 509-575-4487 or at http://yp1.glitnirticketing.com/ypticket/web/ev_list.php.

"Since the snow has cleared from the long winter, excitement for the Pippins' return to the field has really ramped up," general manager Jeff Garretson said. "Some of our big nights have already been filling up. We're as anxious as our fans are to get back to baseball."

The season-opening six-game homestand will provide ample family-friendly entertainment and giveaways. Opening Night, presented by Legends Casino and Hotel, will feature the first postgame fireworks show and souvenir water bottles to the first 750 fans. Magnetic schedules, courtesy of Pizza Hut, will be given away on Saturday, June 3.

The organization's second Military Appreciation Night is again sponsored by Brumback Law Group. Free tickets for veterans and active military members are courtesy of Brumback Law and Thrivent Financial, with free parking for military members provided by Better All Auto Sales.

Monday, June 4, is the first of four "Moo Mondays" presented by the Dairy Farmers of Washington, with a portion of milk sales donated to charity. Tieton Cider Works will give away Rally Rags on Tuesday, June 5, and the first of four Wild Wednesdays, presented by Yakima Craft Brewing Co. and Radio Yakima and featuring $2 hot dogs, $2 medium sodas, $2 medium popcorn, $3 domestic draft beers and $4 craft beverages, round out the first homestand.

Wild Wednesdays also feature $2 tickets courtesy of Gesa Credit Union when purchased in advance online or at Hunky Shaw's Team Shop in the Larson Building. When purchasing online, choose up to five Stadium Select seats and use code GESAROCKSYV (case-sensitive) at checkout. (NOTE: $2 tickets are not available at the stadium box office on game days.) Wild Wednesdays also will be held June 14, June 28 and July 19.

Fireworks also will cap off Banner Bank Hat Night on June 16, Celebrate America Night presented by Perry Technical Institute on July 3 - which will also feature souvenir sunglasses - and Fan Appreciation Night presented by Columbia Asphalt and Columbia Ready Mix on July 31. "Master Scott T." bobbleheads will be given to the first 1,000 fans that night.

The July 18 WCL All-Star Game will also feature postgame fireworks and a return appearance by the Mariner Moose. The top players and prospects in the West Coast League will be part of the two-day festivities that also will include a Fan Fest on July 17 and the All-Star Game Luncheon before the game on July 18.

First Responders Night, presented by Hyatt Family Facilities, will celebrate all first responders on July 7. First responders will receive tickets courtesy of Hyatt. Solarity Credit Union also will give away plastic bats and balls on July 22. Other popular nights, such as Pups & Pippins (aka Dog Days III) and Scouts Night Out, also return.

For the second straight year, Les Schwab will present the Chuck-a-Ball promotion, with more great prizes and the chance for local nonprofit groups to raise funds for youth-focused groups. Last year, Chuck-a-Ball raised more than $9,000.

Ticket prices are $9 for Stadium Select (reserved) seats, $7 for Stadium View (bleacher seats with backs) and $6 for general admission when purchased in advance at the team store or online. Box office prices are $1 higher for each seating level at the stadium. Parking is again $2 when purchased in advance or $3 at the stadium.

Three Thursday home games will be buy-one-get-one, or BOGO, Thursdays. With the code PIPPINSBOGO, fans can purchase one Stadium Select seat in advance and get one free. This promotion is only good online.

Season ticket memberships and Pippins mini-plans (five-game, eight-game and 16-game plans) also are available at the team store or online.
