The Elmira Pioneers put their offensive power to work as they racked up 16 hits in a 12-3 win. The Pioneers got strong pitching from their starter Rhyse Dee, who went 6 innings with 1 earned run on 4 hits.
Elmira got several contributors as Colin Davis started the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the second. The Pioneers would add 4 in the fifth, 3 in the seventh, and 4 more in the eight. Davis finished the night with 3 RBI's.
Craig Corliss added 2 RBI's to up his total to a team leading 18 on the season. The catcher Tanner Johnson had 3 RBI's on 2 hits to follow suit as the Pioneers ran away from Newark in this 4th of July contest.
The Pilots get the day off tomorrow before traveling to Jamestown for a date with league-leading Pilots.
