Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release

(Wilkes-Barre, PA) The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers and Pocono Raceway have announced that Friday, May 25, 2007 will be Pocono 500 Night! The first 2,500 fans that attend the Pioneers game versus the Albany Conquest will receive a free ticket to the Pocono 500's time trials.

"ESPN recently conducted a research study to determine fan loyalty in the sports industry," said Pioneers GM Dave Berryman. "The sport with the number one fan loyalty was NASCAR and surprisingly the number two wasn't the NFL, NHL, NBA or MLB; it was Arena Football. In partnering with Pocono Raceway, I feel that this is the perfect fit for the fan who loves contact sports."

The Pioneers organization will also be attending the Pocono 500 race on June 10, 2007. Pioneers fans can attend the race and visit a Pioneers booth, meet "Pete the Pioneer" and the 2007 Pioneers Dance and Promo Teams.
