FIRE GETS FIRST ROAD WIN: The Fire defense played a major role in Saturday's 52-34 victory over Mahoning Valley. Nate Green picked off a pass in the first half that led to a field goal and the defense recorded four straight stops in the second half. The Fire allowed the Thunder only six points in the final two quarters of play. Offensively Demetrius Forney recorded another outstanding game rushing racking up 51 yards and a touchdown. Receiver Tiger Jones continued his impressive play, catching 11 passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns.

FIRE FINISHES ROAD SWING: The Fire will wind up there three game road swing this Friday night in Ft. Wayne, IN. The Fire will take on the expansion Fusion (2-4) at 7:30 on Friday night. The game can be heard on 1080-AM WKJK or at louisvillefirefootball.com courtesy of the Bisig Impact Group.

FORNEY ON RECORD PACE: Through five games this season Fire fullback Demetrius "The Freight Train" Forney is just 49 rushing yards shy of breaking the Fire's single season rushing record. Pookie Jones currently holds the record with 180 rushing yards in 2003. Forney is near the top of several rushing categories in the af2. Below is a break down of where Forney stands:

TIGER CHASES RECORD: With his 169 yard receiving performance against Mahoning Valley, Tiger Jones recorded his fifth straight 100-yard receiving performance. Jones is the first Fire player ever to recorded 100 yards receiving in each of his first five games with the team. Jones is also within sight of the team record for consecutive 100 yard receiving games. The current record is nine straight held by Rob Mager. Jones is currently third in receptions per game at 8.8, second in receiving yards with 621, first in receiving yards a game with 124.2 and fourth in receptions with 44.
