Pioneers Add QB to Roster

Wilkes-Barre, PA- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce the assignment of quarterback Kyle Rowley to their 2005 roster.
"Adding Kyle to our roster brings in a new level of competition for the quarterback position," says Coach Moss. "Having competition for spots happens on every team. Competition is needed for a team to improve and play its best."
Rowley played the 2004 season with the Columbus Wardogs. He threw 546 pass attempts, completing 357 for 4169 yards and 89 touchdowns. Kyle rushed for 42 yards and 8 touchdowns.
In 2003, Rowley played for the Wardogs but started the season with the Charleston Swamp Foxes. He had a combined 64 pass attempts with 43 completions. He threw for a total of 519 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Rowley played his collegiate career in the Ivy League at Brown University. He holds several single season records at Brown. He is ranked in the Top 10 in the Brown single season record book in three categories. He is seventh in total offense yards with 2,324, sixth in passing yards with 2,328 and seventh in completions with 188. He finished the season ranked 9th nationally in passing with 20.89 completions a game, and 19th in the nation in total offense with 258.4 yards per game. Rowley passed for a school-record 474 yards, and holds a school record for total offensive yard with 483 in his second collegiate start.
